Mark and I first started playing together in 1998 and now after a decade long pause to raise our respective families we have re-formed to present the vintage styles bluegrass, folk and country music we love. 

All members of the band are multi-instrumentalists and singers and we do change it around a bit (with for instance Fred playing clawhammer banjo and Mark on Mandolin) but the default combo is Mark on banjo and vocals, Fred on vocals and guitar, Reuben (Freds son) on mandolin and Sam (Marks son) on double bass. 

We play old 1920’s style blues, vintage bluegrass, oldtime country music, through covers of more contemporary music to some originals. We can play as a duet, trio or full combo to suit the needs and budget of our clients.

We have performed all over Tasmania and also on the mainland at festivals, markets, weddings, clubs and private functions. Our most recent shows in 2026 included the Cygnet Folk Festival, Bream Creek Farmers Markets, Koonya Garlic Festival and Live at the Warf in Ulverstone followed by a guest spot at the Wynyard blues and roots folk club in March. We have a monthly residency at Killara distillery on the second Saturday of every month and occasional work at a variety of venues.
