A huge thank you to Laurie Grundy for the very generous donation of this special instrument.

First prize: Grundy Shawnee Bow Tie Resonator Banjo $5400

This lovely banjo was donated to ABOTMA by Helen Carlile from QLD (the winner from 2024) 
to be used as first prize in the 2025 raffle.  This gives folks a chance to win it again this year.

Made from the very best metal parts available in the world and select grade presentation maple.

  • Neck: Highly figured curly maple

  • Rim: team Bent Three Ply Rock Maple by Jim Cox, Maine USA
  • Fret Board: Indian Rosewood
  • Tone Ring: Cast Bell Bronze, Kentucky 5
  • Flange: Zamac Pot Metal pre-war style
  • Tuners: Gotoh
  • Inlays: Genuine Pearl Shell Bow Tie Design as in 1950's Gibson RB 250's
    by Inlay artist Randall Wyatt of Searcy, Arkansas.
