Existing Members please note the membership renewal process and membership period have changed.  

It can take up to 24 hours after you join or renew your membership before you can view and access discounted member tickets in our ticket system Humanitix.

New Membership Joining & Renewal System
From 1 July 2025 ABOTMA switched to TryBooking to collect membership payments and information.  TryBooking was selected because it is used by many community groups, associations and not for profits to manage memberships (including the Mountain Pickers Association in Melbourne).

Our membership periods are now set to 1 July to 30 June every year *

* As per a motion moved at our AGM in 2023.  At the AGM in 2024 the new committee assured members we would address this as a priority.    

You can still join or renew any time but your membership will expire on 30 June each year.  

Members must regster individually, joint memberships are not possible.  

Why?  As a not for profit incorporated association we require individual membership records to validate entitlements to vote at an AGM; to be nominated as an ABOTMA Commitee member; and eligibility to access member benefits such as member discounted Mountaingrass Festival tickets and Songwriter Competition entries.

A single person can purchase memberships for other members but will need the other member's details including a unique email address, their postal address and mobile phone number.

If you lose your membership record you can go to the TryBooking site and have it re-sent using your email address.

Transitioning members to the new membership periods

Members who joined after the Mountaingrass festival in 2024 have been transitioned into the new membership system and the new membership period applies (1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026).  This provides you with access to member only discounted festival tickets in 2025, a membership benefit you did not receive in 2024.

Members who joined ABOTMA before or at the Mountaingrass Festival in 2024 need to purchase a membership in TryBooking for the new membership period (1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026) to access member discounted tickets for the Mountaingrass Festival in 2025.  This is because it is assumed you have received access to member only discounted festival tickets in 2024. 

Life members have been transitioned to the new membership system so that they can continue to access discounted Mountaingrass festival tickets.

Mountaingrass Festival tickets are usually on sale after 1 July every year.  The new member period means we can ensure that an individual member can access one member discount on a weekend ticket, or one member discount per separate day ticket per yearly membership.

Joining on Try Booking

On the Try Booking ABOTMA membership page: 
Click on the Register Now button.   
On the Select Tickets page click the + sign beside the membership type you want.  

Click twice to buy 2 memberships, etc  Click Next.

On the next screen enter the member details - this is important it is your membership record.  

Click Next.
Enter the buyer email and phone number & Booking Details on the Checkout page so that you receive your membership card.

When buying your Mountaingrass Festival tickets online in Humanitix you will need to enter your membership number to obtain your member discount.
