Dave Diprose and Darryl Thompson having been performing together for an incredible fifty years. As such, the pair have a wonderful musical chemistry and innate knowledge of each other’s playing.

Dave is a masterful storyteller whose songs bring evocative scenes of the rural landscapes of his youth, transporting listeners through nostalgic tales of a bygone era. Darryl is a superb multi-instrumentalist who provides harmony vocals, guitar, and Dobro. His playing brings the perfect colours the material.

Dave is twice winner of Bluegrass song of the Year (Tamworth Songwriters Assn) and twice winner Instrumental of the Year with fiddle tune inspired melodies (Australian Songwriters Assn). The duo’s music artfully blends the deep-rooted traditions of Bluegrass, Folk, and Singer/Songwriter genres with touches of Australiana. It has been described as a meeting of Flatt and Scruggs and Steve Earle, With decades of experience between them, Dave and Darryl are consummate professionals who have shared the stage with international luminaries and performed at festivals and clubs across the nation. They will be joined at Mountaingrass with Andrew Barcham on Bass.
